The rooms were a good size; reception staff were particularly helpful. Its about a six minute walk from the central Station and eight or nine minutes from the central shopping area. its disable friendly too and I'd recommend it without hesitation.

A pleasant stay

Room 401 at ibis Styles Glasgow was one of the best mid-range hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. In a separate area to the left of the lift, it appeared to be the only room not along a corridor. Although it faced onto the street, it was pretty quiet. As it can be extremely difficult to reserve a single room, I was in a double room, which was spacious and well-equipped. The only surprise was the provision of only one chair. Duvets are now standard at hotels, and I have abandoned attempts to request a sheet and blankets for the flexibility they give. The storage was good, although there were no drawers. The Central Heating/Air-conditioning worked well but required experimentation; instructions would have been helpful (see photos), especially for 81-year-olds like me. The same held true for the television: an impressively big screen and clear picture, but many programmes were unavailable – see photos. The shower room (photo) was excellent, with a rapid and generous supply of hot water. When I arrived, I found the shower head connection had been damaged; it was rapidly repaired. The door security device was impossible to use: the two metal sections could not be connected. The lifts were among the fastest I have experienced in a hotel. The Breakfast Buffet (photo) was outstanding, but the jams were hard to find; the music was too loud.

It is lovely to hear that you found your room to be spacious, well lit and quiet. As a city centre hotel, space can be rather limited - this is why there is only one chair in the room. Thank you for your feedback regarding the air-conditioning in your room; we will pass on your comments about having an instruction manual available for guests to use. Our reception team is also on hand to assist with any issues our guests may face with this. We are pleased that you found the bathroom to be to a high standard, and enjoyed the shower. In regards to the manual door lock on the door of your room, these two pieces of metal are not intended to be connected unless the door is attempted to be opened, at which time the second piece of metal links to the first. We apologise that this was not clear. It is great that you enjoyed the breakfast buffet food! We are sorry that the jams were difficult to find and that the music was too loud; we will pass your feedback along. The hotel is great, clean, fabulous themes, but....the hotel is extremely understaffed, or, the staff just don't give a sh!t about the customers?!? Bar and reception staff are very indifferent 😑 lots of moping around, ignoring customers. Also, it is not a 24 hour bar as advertised. Several folks refused service due to 'financial reports'??? Lots of upset customers, at some points many waiting at check in AND bar, only to be told bar is not serving. Poor service all round. Great hotel but very poor service from bar, restaurant and reception staff. Customers ignored, refused service, barely a smile amongst them. Fabulous hotel, not well represented and staff not able to fulfil service nor advertised bar services.

At Ibis Styles, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. Our team most of the times gets glowing reviews so this is highly unusual to receive a feedback like this so we will definitely have a look into this matter. Our bar is a residential bar with a 24 hour licence however in order to be able to operate properly we do need to refresh our system and generate our daily reports. As we don't want to cause any disruptions for our guests during the day this takes place at night time and unfortunately during that time period we are not able to serve customers as our system is refreshing. Once again please let me apologise if this has caused you any inconveniences. Great stay and lovely room, spacious, immaculate and totally ticks all the boxes. Got checked in early which really suited us as we had commitments prior to 3pm check in. Staff friendly and very helpful! Great location as walking distance to places we were visiting. Slept well and no issues with noise! Definitely return

A reasonable location (7 min walk from Central Station) at a good price. My room was clean, although small with no view. There wasn’t a good bar meals selection (burgers, pizzas, fries etc) and breakfast was average. Staff were friendly. I would stay again.
